Construction has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I come from three generations in the industry—my grandfather was a civil engineer, and my father was a general contractor in Memphis, Tennessee. Beginning in 1995, I spent my summers working for my father’s company, learning firsthand what it means to build projects the right way.
I graduated from Auburn University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management and began my full-time career the following year in the Washington, D.C. metro area, working for Clark Construction, one of the largest and most respected general contractors in the country.
After marrying my wife, Kelly, we relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where I joined a small, local general contractor that operated as both a GC and a construction manager. This role allowed me to broaden my skill set, take on more hands-on responsibilities, and build deeper relationships with clients and trade partners.
A few years later, after the birth of our second child, we moved to Dallas, Texas. I joined a regional general contractor and continued managing medium and large commercial projects spanning multiple market sectors. Over time, I transitioned into executive leadership, eventually moving from the GC side of the industry into the specialty trade sector. I led the Dallas office for a trade contractor that was ultimately acquired by a publicly traded corporation, gaining firsthand experience with organizational integration, financial alignment, and operational scaling.
Following that, I left to open and lead a Dallas division for a competing trade contractor—building the office from scratch, hiring personnel, establishing processes, and managing full P&L responsibility.
After many years working for general contractors and trade contractors, I moved into the owner/developer side of the industry. This shift gave me a comprehensive understanding of what owners truly need: clarity, transparency, risk management, and proactive leadership throughout every stage of a project. It also completed a professional arc that allows me to understand construction from all perspectives—GC, subcontractor, and owner.
Today, I use this wide-ranging experience to support clients through my consulting practice. Whether I’m providing project management, owner’s representation, or construction crisis management, I bring a balanced perspective, grounded leadership, and a deep commitment to delivering successful outcomes. I also operate intentionally as a lean, low-overhead provider—meaning when you hire Vanguard Projects Group, you get me, not a junior project manager or someone reporting to me. Every client receives direct, senior-level expertise on every task, meeting, and decision.

Vanguard Construction Manager is the internal project management platform used by Vanguard Projects Group and invited project team members to coordinate construction work. The application helps teams manage RFIs, submittals, budgets, field expenses, daily reports, drawings, specifications, change orders, and project documentation across active jobs.
Access is limited to authorized users who have been invited to a project. Sign in with your company Google account or other credentials provided by your project administrator.
